Please Turn Off That TV And Walkman Phone

SBS TransitDue to an on-going major project that I am the Account Manager for, I usually leave the office between 7 and 7.30pm each evening.

My office is in Tanjong Pagar (central Singapore) while I stay in Taman Jurong (western Singapore). To get home, I take a 30-minute ride on the Underground (the Mass Rapid Transit or MRT for short) then catch the feeder bus number 98 — a 45-minute journey in total.

By the time I board the feeder bus, it’s already past 8pm, and that’s when my stomach starts growling for food.

Sandy, Baby…

SandboxSubmissions for the Sandbox competition are now closed, and that also means that theme designers are mostly free to showcase their new themes based on Sandbox.

Exciting!

Though official previews will only be available 2 August, some designers have already put up their designs and a minority have also made their designs free for download.

Being the never-ever-happy-with-my-theme bloke that I am, you’d expect that I’ll be looking out for something new, and you aren’t wrong!

From the offerings so far, I’m most impressed with Moo-Point, which I believe I’ll be customizing then using it on my blog this evening if this sudden bout of flu doesn’t get worse.

You’ll also find some others listed at Will’s Moo-Point announcement, which includes a Singaporean entry from Bolty, or Daniel Tan.

If what these few authors have showcased so far are just the tip of the iceberg, I can’t wait to see the official previews come 2 August!

Sh’ma Elohai (Hear My God)

Here’s another tune to carry the week, and this one is most touching.

When the heart cries
only God hears
The pain rises out of the soul
A man falls down before he sinks down
With a little prayer (he) cuts the silence

Sh’ma (Hear) Israel my God,
you’re the omnipotent
You gave me my life,
you gave me everything
In my eyes a tear,
the heart cries quietly
And when the heart is quiet,
the soul screams

Sh’ma (Hear) Israel my God,
now I am alone
Make me strong my God;
make it that I won’t be afraid
The pain is big,
and there’s no where to run away
End it because I can’t take it anymore
(make the end of it because I have no more energy left within me)

When the heart cries,
Time stands still
All of a sudden, the man sees his entire life
He doesn’t want to go to the unknown
He cries to his God right before a big fall

Secret Images Revealed And Explained

Remember my post on the secret images in da Vinci’s The Last Supper that were found by this guy named Pesci Slavisa?

Secret Images in The Last Supper

According to several online newswire services, it seems that quite a few web sites crashed as a result of the incredible amount of traffic from people jostling to take a look at the exposed “secret images” as soon as more news sites picked the news up (not from my blog though, mind you).

The good news is that some web sites do have the power to stay available despite the avalanche of visits, and now offer an insight into what the ruckus is all about.

The Weekend’s Almost Over, And What Have I Done?

Absolutely nothing.

I haven’t been an out-body (as in the opposite to homebody) for quite some time now, mainly because I find that there’s nothing much to do in Singapore on the weekends.
