Here’s A Question For You

My dear readers, brothers and sisters, here’s a quick question for you and I hope you do answer honestly.

I would like to find out what you’d be interested in reading about in the future. Essentially, let me know what you’ve enjoyed reading and what didn’t really catch your fancy.

No, I am not becoming a write-to-please blogger, but I just wish to know what exactly it is about my blog or content that keeps you coming back or leaving in disgust.

Paranoia? Perhaps, but besides reading all my favorite Christian blogs, I also read a lot of content on the finer points of blogging, and one particular advice was to actually ask your readers what they like or dislike about your blog.

Just don’t tell me to stop blogging about Christianity or my walk with God or Israel. This blog is all about those issues, and it’s a fact that won’t change no matter what.

And I am improving this blog bit by bit. As some of you who have been with me from day one might have already noticed, I stopped changing themes. Yes, I am quite happy with this but I might upgrade to something nice that Sadish did (if you think this theme is fine as it is, please let me know too, lol!).

So, please, go ahead and give me your honest opinions. It can be on anything, from the design of the blog to writing style to how much you like/hate the Google ads that come with the posts. Most of all, let me know how I can improve.

I await your feedback with much anticipation.

God bless you, my friend.

Shalom.

I have to tell you, you did raised some really good points for debate and arguments related to the Christian belief. For many who can’t bring themselves to “fight it out” in churches, then your blog will be a good way to share and debate on the controversies.

I like - particularly - blogs that allows a healthy dose of discussion between the writer and the readers. Afterall, we are all looking at interactions. I come across multiple blogs that the writer doesn’t respond to a single comment, my take is they are better off writing a book than blogging. That’s what the book does, for one to read and leave nothing behind.

Thank you for the comment, mate. It’s very much appreciated.

I write these not only for Christians to debate, but also to let non-Christians know what Christians are concerned about, and what the Bible teaches about issues that we all have a vested interest in, e.g. marriage, good works, life in general etc.

I’m hoping to improve and become better in time, and your encouragement means much.

    Thank you, Ed.

    God bless, and Shalom!

Hi Sicarii, what I love about your blog is the whole edge it has… though you blog about Chritianity, Jews and other issues am always interested in what you have to say, also the way you coin the catchy titles for your posts keeps me coming back for more.
whatever you are doing keep doing it… as for me I see no issues with your blog.

    Godbless

Hi Sicarii, I like your blog just the way it is too. The only thing I would caution you on, is that when you link to an article, give it a considerable amount of thought and prayer before doing so. I clicked one recently that had a bit of cussing and such in it, and while I’m by far, not a prude, I don’t think a person expects that when they click a link in a site devoted to Christianity and a Christian lifestyle. It may cause some not to return, if it is their first visit, and they haven’t taken the time to get to know you through your blog. (In other words, your lending credence to something when you link to it, so if you must link to something that includes profanity, then perhaps warn your readers of such.) Just a thought. Anyway, like I said, I really like it the way it is, and I really enjoy your titles. I’m still trying to think of catchy titles each day, and don’t seem able to do it all the time. :) Shalom and God bless you, brother.

    Dear ChannelofHealing:

I am really happy that you like the catchy titles and content. Thank you for the encouragement.

Sometimes I can overdo the catchy titles part, lol! Like the last one where the words “Christian” and “pornography” came together in the same ‘catchy’ title. Some people became offended, and I took the post down immediately. Lesson learned.

    God bless you, and Shalom.

    Shalene:

Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate them.

And thank you for the caution. Sometimes I do get carried away by the news and interesting information that I can overlook such details. Another lesson learned, and I thank you for it.

I am still very much a ‘baby’ blogger, so there’s much I need to, and can learn from, veterans like you, Hannah, Hummie and ChannelofHealing and Casey and others. That’s why I posted this — to learn.

And all of you have been great teachers.

    My many thanks!

God bless you, sister, and Shalom!

Really? Cool! Do you still remember much? Do you also speak Chinese?

I don’t remember much unfortunately, because there aren’t many people to speak Japanese with. :-( Although I must say that I still can read/write Hiragana and Katakana pretty alright. Kanji can be a challenge but I manage on some.

Yes, I am actually effectively bilingual. I speak and write both English and Chinese. :-)

Oops, that came out garbled. What I tried to say was “jaa, nihon e asobi ni kite kudasai.” (”Well, then, come and visit me in Japan.”)

Hey Isaiah, Just for the record, you may call me a veteran if you like, but I just started blogging in May, so I’ve really not been doing it much longer than you. :) I just “fake” it well. :) Not really, I just apply my life to my blog, as you well know. Maybe sometimes too much…. You know, like when I give details that others may or may not want to hear. :) LOL Ok that was funny. :) (I crack myself up!)

Hahaha, you do “fake” it really well, Shalene! I really thought you’ve been blogging for ages! You’re right, we actually started round about the same time.

Before this blog I had another, which was hosted at wordpress.com, but that was more of a personal mundane thing. I scrapped that and decided to focus on this.

I am still not as bold as you are with those details. Perhaps one day I would, but for now there are still many skeletons in the closet.

    Keep happy, sister!

    Shabbat Shalom.

    お早う Casey さん

I definitely will! Though it will depend on how long I’ll take to save enough and whether you’ll still be in Japan when I do, lol!

    Shabbat Shalom, brother.

I frequent your blog because there’s always new, fresh and thought-provoking content. I enjoy your wide range of topics and mostly agree with your points of view. You also write very well, making your blog an easy read. My only complaint is that I can’t access it from my Blackberry (which is where I do most of my blog reading), but I doubt there’s anything you can do about that. lol For now, I log on as much as I can when I’m on a real puter. Other than that, I love it!

    Many blessings to you…

    Dear Free:

Thank you very very much for the kind words, they really encourage me!

You have always given me great feedback and I really appreciate that your comments on my posts.

You are right, I can’t do anything about the complaint at the moment though I do know that there’s a plug-in that lets people read blogs on the iPhone, lol!

    God bless you, Free.

    Shabbat Shalom.

    Hi, again, Sicarii!

You’re quite welcome and I’m pleased that anything I say encourages you. :)

Well, maybe they’ll come up with a plug-in for Blackberry. LOL Actually, I can read and comment on other blogs from my BB, but for some odd reason my phone goes haywire whenever I try to log on to this one. It takes forever to load and when it finally does I get an annoying hour glass that continuously pops up throughout my visit and even after I log off of the internet and engage in other phone applications. The only solution is to clear my cache and/or remove my phone’s battery and reboot. I love reading your blog, but until I resolve this issue, I can only comfortably do so from an actual computer (like I’m doing now instead of the housework that I’m supposed to be doing…I’m SUCH a procrastinator, lol).

Have a good one and Shabbat Shalom!

    hiya Free! :-)

All positive comments encourage me and I thank you all for it. :-)

Hm… time to look for another theme then, something simple and not so cluttered, and maybe remove a few plug-ins. I’m looking to do just that soon actually so that’s something to keep in mind.

Oh no, I hope my procrastination bug didn’t bite you! :-P

    Shabbat Shalom!
