Dear Taliban,
I write to you as a human being.
Please look deep inside your own human hearts and release the poor South Korean hostages today.
What harm have they done you? None.
What harm have they wrought upon your country and countrymen? None.
In other words, they are innocent.

If you have been looking for me these few days, I’m sorry for my absence.
Fact of the matter is, I’ve been too sick to even sit at my computer to compose something intelligible till now.
Trouble started brewing Tuesday, when against the better judgment of my wife, I decided to pop into work nursing a running nose and fever. First thing my boss noticed when she stepped into office that morning was my rather sick countenance and I was almost literally chased home.
