So Why Is It That I Don’t Feel It?

Medieval BattleI’ve been sharing the events of the past couple of weeks and what’s been happening since then with some brethren and sisters who I’d really like to take this opportunity to thank for their concern.

Whenever I recount the events, a good majority of them tell me that they are excited for me because it seems that God has been teaching me something and they do believe that there’s something exciting in store for me after the trial is over.

Yet…

I somehow don’t share the same excitement.

Do I Taste Bitterness? Yes, Much!

Bitterness I am not feeling as bitter as I had been on Shabbat evening, thanks very much in part to a great conversation with Sidharth over MSN that same night when he reminded me to give thanks for everything, the good and the bad.

What am I bitter about?

Learning To Surrender

SurrenderEd’s post on his blog about how jaded he is having to juggle so many things and also taking on the burdens and tasks of others because he can be a softie (like me) inspired this post.

In my previous post about surrendering to God’s will when we pray, I talked about how I am learning to really let God’s will drive my life instead of going it alone like Rambo.

Since then I’ve been trying my hardest to follow up on what I said I was going to do in terms of surrendering my life to God’s will, and here I will share a few things that I’ve been doing and that which I find really helpful.

Morning Prayer

Pray, keep praying and more importantly, make prayer the first thing or one of the first things you do before you begin your day. In that prayer, give praise to God for everything, and surrender the day to God.

Are You Like The Girl Or The Guy?

GirlI came across this great story that talks about procrastination so I decided to shelf it and read it only next week.

No, seriously, I actually read it immediately because, well, as I said in my “About” page, I can procrastinate a lot, and it’s one bad habit or should I say lifestyle trait that I really want to change.

I do identify with the girl quite a lot but there are periods when I am much alike the guy in the story. It all depends on what it is I am doing.

Like, when it comes to blogging, I am the guy.

I can go on for hours on weekends networking in blog communities, reading other blogs, researching information for my next post, etc. I have even drawn up a schedule of things to write on, and already I have a backlog (deciding when to publish a particular topic can kill, trust me).

But when it comes to finally getting my ass off on, say, actually clearing my hard disk of junk, I procrastinate, and become like the girl. Start clearing a directory, and “ooh! there’s a file I haven’t seen for the longest time! Let me email/post/flickr it first…”. Nothing gets done by bedtime even if I started early in the morning. Yes, sigh, again…

If I have to really give a straight answer, I’d say I identify more with the girl, sadly.

How about you? Do you identify more with the girl or the guy?

Making The Perfect Product Sales Pitch

Steve JobsBeing a Sales/Account Manager in the IT industry, I am always looking out for ways to make my presentations snazzier, more attention-grabbing and most importantly, actually sell the product or service I am promoting.

In many aspects, Steve Jobs is a great example of how one can make the perfect product sales pitch.

What’s It Really Like To Work At Google

GoogleSometime ago, after watching a newsreel on the benefits that Google employees enjoy at their HQ, many of my friends and I immediately remarked that it was very much like how things were during the first years of the dot.com era before the bubble burst.

So what’s it really like to work at Google?

This blog entry gives a very good insight into the working culture, management structure and opportunities for career development, although it’s from the perspective of a Microsoft employee.

It does really feel like the old dot.com days, and I especially like the “Tech Stop” idea.
